Copywriter (Part-Time)

Position Summary

The Copywriter will create and transforms ideas into creatively worded copy for articles, advertisements, publications, and pamphlets for the purpose of vigorously promoting brand recognition and awareness, thereby driving sales.

Essential duties & responsibilities include the following:

  • Drive brand forward with a fresh, confident and approachable voice driven by brand positioning.
  • Communications include, but are not limited to, email marketing, landing page tests, key pages on site, product stories, blog, social media, video radio and retail opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain blog posts for product insights and how to’s.
  • Write upper-level (headline) creative copy for all brand communications, and ensure that voice and marketing messages are consistent across all channels and align with overall brand strategy.
  • Work closely with Creative team to ensure all editorial copy, headlines, tag-lines and homepage content is positive and compelling.
  • Work with Creative Manager to establish needs for each product campaign, as well as work cross-functionally with E-Commerce, Storage, Pet, Housewares, and other product teams.
  • Create master copy doc, track revisions, manage and obtain approvals for all writing assignments.
  • Descriptive Product Copy for Packaging, Online Product Pages, A+ Pages
  • Review and adjustment of English translations (from direct translation to be more appropriate)
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned



Required Education and Experience:

  • 2 - 3 years’ experience producing creative and engaging content across multiple platforms
  • Bachelor's degree (English, Journalism, Communications, or Marketing) preferred
  • Native English speaker preferred
  • Experience with SEO for keyword search preferred

Knowledge of:

  • Knowledgeable about social media, content management systems, digital marketing and public relations best practices
  • Product specifications
  • Microsoft Office Applications

Skilled in:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solver, blending creative and analytical skills to anticipate problems and provide creative solutions

Ability to:

  • Pay attention to detail with high standards for brand, messaging, quality, and consistency of content
  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written
  • High-performing self-starter with a proven ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with cross-departmental teams
  • Exhibit courteous and respectful demeanor towards all company personnel in words and action
  • Exhibit a cooperative, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
